Our stylish tasting room, which has three different seating areas (counter, table, and couches in front of a roaring fireplace), all with beautiful views into our quaint barrel cellar and over our dam to the Kogelberg mountains, is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 – 16:00.
As you enjoy the view over the dam you’ll probably see our resident Egyptian geese, who are seemingly quite content that they are the actual owners of the place.
Christal Jacobus, our tasting room manager, will take you through our wines on these days while Mondays and Tuesdays are by appointment, or take your chances that our winemaker will be free for walk-ins. If you pitch up and Vanessa isn’t too engrossed in her winemaking magic, you’ll be in for a treat and may even be able to twist her arm for a cellar tour.
We have a few different tasting options, with the fee waived if you buy some of our wine to enjoy at home.
We serve a variety of scrumptious platters on the weekends or with 48-hour advance booking for during the week, to be enjoyed in the café, on the lawns and decks, or in the tasting room – as you like.
Fresh bread, crackers, parma ham, salami, three different cheeses , seasonal fresh fruit, dried fruit, gherkins, rosemary marinated olives and hummus.
Fresh bread, crackers, seasonal fruit and veggies, three different cheeses, humus, olives, guacamole or bean dip and nuts.
Fresh bread, crackers, seasonal fruit and veggies, cashew cream cheese, cashew camembert, nuts, olives, humus, guacamole or bean dip.
Please book in advance for platter groups of ten people or more, but for tastings only --- the more the merrier.
Friendly dogs are most welcome guests, but may have to pass Rusty’s discerning canine approval.
We do hire-out the property for intimate weddings or events, however we do not provide catering (except our delicious wine of course) and planning.
For all reservation or enquiries please email: [email protected] or call 071 271 0161 and our tasting room manager will assist you.
