The Wines of Highlands Road Estate
Our philosophy of wine is simple: make wine that reflects the truest character of the vineyards, bringing out the best in nature with as little manipulation as possible.
Purchased in 2004, the former fruit farm was identified as an ideal area for Sauvignon Blanc. The first three-hectare vineyard was planted on the south, southwesterly Tukulu slopes, with ten more hectares planned over the next two years. In addition to Sauvignon Blanc, we also have small plantings of Pinot Noir, Merlot, Semillon and Chardonnay. Because we believe that wine is made in the vineyard, and we take pride in cultivating the best quality grapes to create our wines. As a true expression of this philosophy, we use minimal intervention in the winemaking, never adding acid to our wines and relying on the cool climate to provide the distinctive character of Elgin Valley to our wine.
